Sloan's Homecoming Surprise

So, I have to write about Sloan's date, Michael and how he asked her to homecoming. (which will be her first high school dance) So, a couple weeks ago, he started texting me about wanting to do something special to ask her to his school dance and he had some ideas but wanted to see what ideas I had. I told him that I would help him but I thought his ideas were great and he said to me, you're her mom and know her better than anyone so your opinion definitely matters! (Awww, I thought that was so sweet...Kari has taught him well!) Anyways, we texted back and forth several times and came up with a plan and came over last Sunday while Sloan was at her dad's and put the plan in action. He decorated her room with 20 helium balloons along with 20 balloons that we blew up and then he wrote on those balloons. He also had 16 roses delivered to her at her school since they go to different schools along with a card (with a picture of the 2 of them & Pito on it) that said, soon you'll be surprised...

When she got the flowers, she said that she was shaking, it was her first time getting flowers from a boy and when she got home from school, she couldn't believe her room! We went to his JV football game after school, got there late and he asked me to take her home early. It was Pito's Birthday yesterday so I had a reason to leave early with her to get home and make Birthday dinner. She was not very happy that I made her go early but it was all part of his plan. After his game, his mom brought him over and he showed up at the door with two of the roses from her bouquet, we were busy so I asked her to answer the door. She was so happy to finally see him and thank him for everything he had done to make it super special for her! Great job Michael and thank you for making her first dance special already!

Lordy Lordy Look Who's Four!

Last night Marcus and I went back four years ago and talked about everything that we were thinking, feeling and going through the night that God blessed us with our little Marcus Vincent Alan Sledge. I can't believe he is already four years old! I was playing with him and picked him up and said, "you were in my belly, how did you even fit in there?" and he said "then I said OUCH when I was born!" I said "you were just fine, it was mommy that was saying OUCH" and he just laughed at me. We also talked about how him and I were in a fight before he was even born because he didn't want to come out and meet his family when we were ready and even after the Dr.'s gave me medicine to help him be born, he still didn't want to grace us with his presence. I told him that I had threatened a spanking that day while he was still kicking around in my tummy at the hospital. :) Big Marcus :) reminded me that he still had mascara stains from me crying on his shirt from the first day we were supposed to go to the hospital to be induced but they were too full to admit me.

We had a good Birthday for him, Friday we went to chuck e cheese for pizza and he played games and ate pizza and cupcakes with his buddy Ethan and Saturday we had a family party at our house with Marcus' mom's homemade lasagna and we had more cupcakes. We even surprised him with a pinata, which he had been asking for the last month. Turned out to be a beautiful day on Saturday for his party and he thoroughly enjoyed himself! We got him a big boy bike, he got a new sweet nerf gun, toy box, race track and several other good presents! Thanks everyone for your help in making his Birthday special and good job decorating the dining room babe!
