I've never really thought of myself as a writer but sometimes I feel it's easier to pray this way, when I pray outloud or with my kids or husband, I can get lost or have trouble with the words that are in my heart, or just lose focus and start thinking about something other than my prayers. It's easy to tell people, you'll pray for them but it's sometimes hard to stop what you're doing that very minute and just lift them up to the Lord and block EVERTHING else out that may be distracting us at that moment. I am trying to work on my prayers and putting aside time each day to get to know You Father, God and I know that if I surround myself in Your word, the rest will come! Thank You for each and every blessing You put in front of me daily and for helping me make healthy choices! Please help me open up Your word daily and share it, read and understand it with my family and surround myself in truth! I love You, Sophia Care Sledge
Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 3:13-14

Weekend fun
Although this weekend started out a little scary, it turned out great! I woke up with bad stomach pain Friday morning and after working a few hours decided to make a dr's appointment...felt like my apendix had exploded. I got to the dr around 1:30 and after having some tests ran and an ultrasound they saw that I had an ovarian cyst that had ruptured and was causing internal bleeding. I had a fever, was pretty dizzy and bloated so the dr said she wanted to admit me into the hospital downstairs at Capital Medical Center for more testing and keep me for observation to make sure the bleeding had stopped and I hadn't developed an infection. Everything turned out ok and after being there 10 hours, getting some crazy drugs in my iv, they let me go home. The dr also noticed during the CT scan that I had a kidney stone on the other side from my cyst so said I'd probably be back at the hospital when that decides to do it's thing. I guess I'd rather know that's coming...but what the heck is going on with my body lately. Hopefully it's just bad luck and not a sign of what my health will be like getting older. I was just at the dr the Monday before for a kidney infection that came on after not treating a bladder infection soon enough. Anyways, I was happy to get out of there and go home and rest in my own bed.
Saturday, Sloan had a fall ball game and they were short players so Marcus asked O to play on their team, she did great playing up and Sloan led the team very well! It was very neat to see them playing on the same team, they were double-teaming a girl, playing defense and I was thinking I really hope they get another chance to play together when O is a freshman and Sloan a senior. After the game, we took all the kids to the pumpkin patch and got yummy donuts and strawberry cider, which is delish...I'm hiding some in the fridge so I can have it all to myself.
Linni had her slumber party tonight...or I guess it's last night now and O played hostess and did great! She did their nails, even massaged their hands with lotion like the nail salon! Marcus and the girls made peanut butter bars and we made mini pizzas, they all had a great time! Sloan, her friend Ajia and Marcus' cousin Stacey went to Seattle to see an all ages show, Stacey is friend's with the lead singer of the band they went to see. They got home a little while ago and they also had a great time! Thanks Stacey!! :) I heard that the girls have a crush on the drummer and he HAD a crush on Sloan until he asked her age and found out he didn't have a crush on her anymore. Not good but did pump up her ego which I guess is ok, especially after the week she just had.
