Days to Remember...by the Sledge's

Our Weekend

Our little guy's diagnosis quickly changed from chicken pox to hives on Thursday evening. It was obvious when we got home from work on Thursday that he had hives and not chicken pox. His fever and itching kept him up on Wednesday night and we all felt so bad for him and Marcus and I were so tired being up with him. Marcus didn't have to work on Friday and I made him an appointment to go back to the Dr. after another night of being up most of the night with a high fever and itching. I would say, try not to scratch Pito and he said, "I'm trying but it's too hard" and he was just miserable and cried and cried. Anyways, the Dr. confirmed that it was hives and they weren't sure if it was from a virus that he had an allergic reaction to or a food allergy. His fever broke on Saturday and he started looking much better and yesterday he looked about 90%, we were all very thankful to see our Pito return! I told him that I said many prayers for him and was glad they had been answered and he said, me too!

Calamine lotion or hydrocortisone cream didn't help with the itching much but we tried it all anyways.

Oh yeah, Thursday...we watched the Vikes season opener and they lost to the Saints but I'm not worried...yet. Sloan's friend, Alexi and her boyfriend, Michael came over to cheer with us...well at least Lexi was cheering with us, Michael's an Eagle's fan so he wasn't cheering for either team. O wasn't able to raise her glass of purple people eater punch with us because she had practice but we saved her a glass. Pito was so excited despite not feeling the best, he loves the punch and the good food the most but I think he'll come around to enjoying the game with us soon too.

Linni so excited about posing

Friday was the spaghetti bowl, where Oly and Capital play...it was a good game and Capital ended up beating Oly for the first time in 6 years. Michael didn't play much but did good when he was in.

O with her friends, Macall and Kenzie

Sunday, I went with O to her basketball meeting at one of the coaches homes in Des Moines, Linni came too. It was a crazy nice house, indoor pool and separate guest quarters, right on the water...absolutely beautiful! Great potluck & meeting, the coaches are very dedicated and know their stuff, I'm very excited for O to be part of this team and get in on the ground floor. I know this will bring her many opportunities and help get her to the next level!

On their deck overlooking the water (I had to make believe I was taking pics of Linni because I wanted to show Marcus their incredible home)

Oh, we took a few fun pics before we left Sunday too...

I love this one

Even I took advantage of Pito spending the day with gammy & pops
Linni, you look scared...I would be too.

Ha ha, Pito wasn't there so we took advantage of playing on the loft ladder
